Very well put. It is a no win discussion as peoples experiences and the conitions of success or failure vary so much. Run the best you can afford and believe provides you with the lubrication qualities you need for that application. When I used to live where it was cold many wondered why I didn't use synthetics since they do exhibit superior flow characteristics when cold. I preferred to change the oil every 90 days or 3000 miles rather than mess with the oil analysis suggested when using synthetics to run the longer change intervals. However if I lived in the artic, then a synthetic or 0-20 oil would be my choice. Max
